ZoodulcisModeratorWe would love to see a picture of Roxanne.
ZoodulcisModeratorLooks painful. If it is a fungus, an antibiotic won’t help. If you have Tinactin lying around, you might try that and see if there is any improvement. Otherwise, he needs to see a vet so a culture can be taken and analyzed.
ZoodulcisModeratorForget the future…sounds like they are a ton of fun to watch right now. Sounds like Zazzles may be trying to let him know who’s boss. Do you think that could be part of the charges toward Olfa?
ZoodulcisModeratorThat’s cute! And whatever works. In a similar manner, it’s amazing how many beardies are named Toothless. Little kids really like that name, although I think the poor pet would disagree. I love the music from that movie, but would never name a pet that, so to each their own!
ZoodulcisModeratorOK now that is a unique name. Did your child give you any indicate of the origin of this moniker?
ZoodulcisModeratorThank you so much for that comprehensive response! Much of what you have described as good husbandry is in our toad care guide on this site, but your first tip is unique. Preventing them from burrowing for a time to minimize the parasite load and providing a circuit breaker for reinfection is extremely interesting and it is a tip I will pass on to others members over time. And you are so right about amphibians being threatened by human activities, either directly or indirectly. Sounds like you learned some valuable lessons and that you are now a really well informed and responsible keeper. So thanks again!
ZoodulcisModeratorSounds like you are really, really fond of her. Do your leopard geckos like being held more than she does?
ZoodulcisModeratorA lovely smile! Have you entered the contest before? Her name is familiar.
ZoodulcisModeratorAll good questions and concerns. For right now, feed him as much as he will eat, if you want him to grow big fast. But in March you will need to slow it down a bit. Check in then and we can evaluate his diet as he approaches adulthood.
ZoodulcisModeratorAll the stuff that is not in season or on sale right now. Too bad he isn’t a fan of yams!
ZoodulcisModeratorLooks like a tough-love moment about to happen with the upcoming dietary conversation. Very cute picture. What’s this serious beardie’s name?
ZoodulcisModeratorSounds like you went to the Wild Animal Park quite a bit. Most of my misspent youth was at the Balboa Park location. I worked for the zoo as an adult later in life and eventually became a zoologist. No surprises there!

ZoodulcisModeratorBy adopt should I assume you mean purchase from a pet store, or was he a rescue?
ZoodulcisModeratorWhat a great childhood!! I suspected something of the sort since I was a San Diego zoo brat myself, nearly my whole family worked there and I spent dozens of hours in the reptile house as a little kid, just watching the action when anything was up and about. It does tend to stick with you your whole life, those early childhood animal experiences.
ZoodulcisModeratorThe best of luck with breeding and we can’t wait to hear how it progresses! As I recall, Moe has been on the forum before and you reported that she is pretty chill all of the time. Correct? What is the temperament of her future husband like?
