You got it!  Please look for the citation in a post that I will supply early tomorrow morning.  And kudos to you for getting over any fear of snakes.  I never had one, which makes me kinda weird.  To prove that point, I also saw a study where there was an attractive woodland scene that was highly rated by viewers as to pleasing aesthetic qualities.  When a figure of a snake, so disguised by the grasses and underbrush of the same scene that almost none of it was visible, but a bit was, was photoshopped in study participants rated the scene as much less pleasing, although they did not know why.  Wait, what!  So your reaction to ophidians is/was much more normal than mine!

In the picture she looks average sized.  If she is a Brahma does that mean she is a bit on the large size for a hen?  Brahma’s have such good natures (unlike Barred Rock).

I don’t know about you, but I find snakes to be extremely calming.  I have always loved them.  I must have the gene, because although my parents loathed snakes, my cousin became a herpetologist.  So it’s in there somewhere.  I am an expert in the human-animal bond and one of the most fun studies I ran across in the course of my doctoral dissertation was the beneficial effects of a pet snake on physiological stress response.  If you are interested I will post the citation in this forum. You all seem like the sort of folks that might resonate with this.

I notice that Ms. Nyte is not necessarily yellow, but is light colored and adorable.  She seems to be a house chicken.  I totally understand since I have had house goats.  What breed is she?

You guys truly go for yellow pets (no, not like the cowardly lion, but like a lemon macaroon, sweet and golden).  I suspect that Mocha’s crickets may end up going to Jack if you win the prize.  They are both gorgeous and look super happy and healthy.  I am trying to advise readers on the best gut load for crickets, so if you have a recipe or a product you would like to share, that would be awesome!

She is absolutely stunning!  Makes me miss my ball python, gone lo these many years.  Does she like to crawl under clothing and come peaking out of a sleeve or neckline as a joke.  I swear mine had a sense of humor.  Does she truly like crickets?

Is Spike another Madagascan?  If they are a pair, then I assume you are thinking of breeding them?

A flowing canteen!  That’s an outstanding idea.  And I assume that you meant to say that you mist him 3 times per day.  If only more herp keepers were that conscientioso us.  You plainly have a bromeliad in the habitat, but are there any other plants and if so, what kind?  And thanks for participating freely in this discussion.  Sometimes it’s these little tips that solve huge problems for other keepers.

How long has Horus been in his bioactive habitat?  Since he is a Giant, are the plants holding up under his weight?  The bromeliad looks quite nice and not at all squashed.  Other herp fanciers always like knowing what sort of planting work best over time so they are not constantly wasting money on plantings that did stand up to physical abuse or herbivory.

Thanks for clarifying that!  In case we ever do a care guide on this species, and I hope that we do, I am going to start doing my homework now.  How many crickets per day does Izzy eat and do you feed every day or allow for a fasting day?

Ah, so he’s not just a really big leaf tail of some kind, but indeed a ‘Giant’.  Thanks for clarifying.  Is that a bioactive habitat with a bromeliad in the background that is partly shown behind Horus?

Izzy looks like she/he could certainly appreciate a win.  Question for you, I was under the impression that these lizards are herbivorous, so what will Izzy do with all of those crickets or am I mistaken about the diet of the Madagascan variety of iguana?

Those are indeed incredible!  Is Horus a Satanic Leaf-tailed Gecko?

I have found that tom turkeys are very affectionate companions when older.  They love to strut and show off for their human companions and even like putting on airs for strange human ladies!  The females seem a little less friendly to me, but still interesting.  Do you know the sex of your poults?

He is a big boy!  Do you think he will get larger than this or is Tommer’ maxed out?
