That must really be precious. Do you think Mayze may turn out to be a girl, or are you certain of the sex?

Interesting that he is able to make that distinction. Your poor arms!! Have you thought of trimming his nails?

That’s hilarious. What other pet do you have the dog doesn’t like as much?

I would clip them. It prevents them from snagging in fabrics or carpets and causing toe injury.

Jaida seems pretty curious about the new addition. Is Henlee a belated Christmas gift to yourself?

Yoga Dragon! Is this flexible little person a new family member?

Seems wild type to me too. When you say rescued from Petsmart, I do hope you mean that you didn’t make a purchase? But rather took advantage of an opportunity to adopt an unwanted animal in a store that was closing or something like that.

    I concur with AB.

UVB is fine for the habitat. If you decide to go bioactive, you will definitely need that.

Deeper substrate is a good call by AB. I would not leave any uneaten food in his tank at this point. The wildly fluctuating temperatures may be throwing off his feeding response. I think I would try keeping the light on 12 hours per day, and misting 3 or more times for humidity. Since you don’t have to worry about him shedding like a reptile would consistently high humidity may be less important right now than consistent diurnal/nocturnal lighting.

Be sure to check out the care guide on this site for more tips on pixie frog care.

I’m sure glad you asked about that tank feature AB. That is an important consideration for chameleon owners when designing a habitat.

Congrats on your acquisition of Dozer. Sounds like he is indeed settling in. May I ask where you got him?

I’m not surprised he was dehydrated. You wouldn’t have to search this forum very long to find out what I think about buying pets from the big box stores. Supplies, sure, just not living creatures. He is very lucky to go to a good home before he was a goner. Is he a Christmas gift to yourself?

It is kind of you to accomodate him. Does he ever accidentally scratch your forehead?

Good for you for taking the time to make an informed decision before acquiring him/her. I sure wish more people would do that. Is Scout eating well and settling in just fine?
