ZoodulcisModeratorWell yes and no. Because a frog drinks through his skin, he has no choice but to spend a considerable amount of time in his bowl. If the water temperature itself is around 82, there should be no problem. Less than that and he may either get chilled, or begin to avoid the bowl and become dehydrated. If you have a laser digital thermometer, check the bowl throughout the day, including evening, to make sure the bowl is absorbing heat from the adjacent sources.
ZoodulcisModeratorSo cute. Does she actually swim?
ZoodulcisModeratorMichael do you concur that your pet is a Blizzard?
ZoodulcisModeratorGenetic abnormalities are all too common in cresties. They may be the result of inbreeding, poor husbandry, incubation mishaps and other problems. Eyes and eyelids are the most common complaint, sometimes jaws as well. To be of more help and encouragement, how old is the little one? How long have you had her? Does it seem to be getting worse as she develops. Perhaps the most important question would be does it seem to be troubling her. Many owners of deformed cresties just accept it unless the animal seems in pain or unable to function.
ZoodulcisModeratorI may be the responsible party. I deleted a post from you advertising tanks and enclosures. This site does not allow sales. It must be that by trashing that post it has blocked all further posts under that same name. Sorry. So just use a different name of your choice but please remember the no soliciting rule.
ZoodulcisModeratorMy Bling more like! What a pretty girl. Did you just now acquire her?
ZoodulcisModeratorIt may be pinworms. They are a very common parasite in beardies. They can cause diarrhea and the soft slimey stool may be the first indication. A stool sample provided your vet will be sufficient for diagnosis. No need to take the animal in right away. If pinworms are the problem, an inexpensive wormer that is probably going to be fenbendazole based will be sold to you for application at home. If the stools get even softer and no internal parasites are identified, a change in diet may be called for. If that doesn’t work, a trip to the vet for your pet it is!
ZoodulcisModeratorOh I bet! Did the chewed on animal recover fully?
ZoodulcisModeratorLarger crickets can save a little money. Just be sure to stick to ‘the face rule.’ Never try to feed anything larger than the space between the eyes.
If he is growing that fast, you’re doin’ good! What do you dust his food with?
ZoodulcisModeratorThat sounds so satisfying. Basilisks are greatest!
You mentioned something on Youtube, but there was no link in this thread. I am curious, so unless I can find it in another thread, would you be so kind as to provide that for me?
ZoodulcisModeratorOMG, that’s hilarious. OK, I gotta ask. In general, do you feel that your intimate association with all of these creatures great and small (top 5 favorite TV series for me back in the day, plus I read all of the books) may be helping you all to cope with Covid and it’s various constraints these days?
ZoodulcisModeratorIf they are still lethargic, then dubia roaches might indeed be the way to go. Otherwise it sounds like they have an awesome set up, especially that outside enclosure.
ZoodulcisModeratorWhat’s this about superworms and holes in a gecko?!! Did the worms do it?
ZoodulcisModeratorI can see why, that is certainly a very cool rock. What color morph is he?
ZoodulcisModeratorNo problem and please let me know if find the guide useful.
