In my opinion, you should start soon. Just put it on her for a short time in an environment she is comfortable in, and then increase the time a little each day. After a week to 10 days, you should be able to take her to new places with it on. Start with indoors only for at least a month.

Rosalina, you are so cute. Can you recall the old nursery rhyme about the lost sheep where the conclusion is ‘leave them alone, and they’ll come home, wagging their tails behind them?’ Really old rhyme from a time when sheep’s tails were not docked. But in this case, the adage makes sense. It seems as though all is really well with your pet. Now you get to be patient and not fuss. The only measure to take at this point is to make sure that any undertank heating is not too much. Don’t change the heat, just put a hand towel on top of any heating pads. This both disperses and slightly lowers the heat a bit.

I’m guessing Rex has artistic tendencies. 🤣 Is Rex pretty chill when helping you do schoolwork, or does he get a need for speed?

They do have such different personalities. Fortunately, there is now hard science about that, not just anecdotes. Have you handled Birdie a lot since she was just a youngin’?

That is awesome! 19! That speaks very well about the care that pet has been given. A wonderful example to follow. What new things has she currently done to amuse and amaze?

This is pretty normal and nothing to be concerned about until it has been over a week. After that, a honey bath may be needed.

Sure looks like constipation or impaction to me. The constant changes in temperature are not a good thing at this point, so try to encourage your mom to desist for a while. Do you know when the last time he pooped was? If you can’t be sure it was in the last 10 days, then he needs to soak in dechlorinated tap water with 1 tsp of honey dissolved into it. The water should be no colder than 75 degrees when you put him into the bath. It could take a couple of days, and it may not solve the problem, but many many forum members have had tremendous luck with this, and it does no harm so it’s worth a try.

Serious bummer…let’s see if we can zero in on likely causes, although without a photo or two, a diagnosis will be an educated guess at best. Because they are wild-caught, chytrid is a possibility, so I recommend researching that disease thoroughly. If it is, it is curable in the early stages with an anti-fungal, which unfortunately only comes from a vet. If you have never wormed these wild-caught pets, that could be another problem. A heavy parasite load can sneak up on them, compromising their immune system and making them vulnerable to all sorts of secondary infections. Amphibian wormers are available online, if you think this may be the case. Also, when is the last time the ill ones defecated? If they look real skinny this is probably not the problem, but if the ones that are lethargic seem plump, it could be constipation, which can be lethal. If you suspect that this may be the case, a teaspoon of honey dissolved in the bath water will help, although it may take 2-3 for this remedy to produce the needed poop.

If you can take a few pictures, that would help, but it does sound like it may be too late for one of the four frogs.

Glad you are resubmitting this James. But since the month is almost over, perhaps you should submit your favorite picture on November 1st. Just in case you don’t win this month.

I’m guessing you meant Hauling Toad, James. So what does Grumpy Gus here prefer in the way of chow? Just crickets or other goodies as well?
