That must be a hoot. It sounds like it was a good idea to provide them with companionship. Do you handle one or both the them daily?

How do you like the critter keeper so far? More importantly, how much does your gecko like it?

Oh, so you did get them as babies. That must be so fun. Do they seem to keep each other company, or do they pretty much ignore each other right now?

It’s fun to see personality differences within the same species. It makes you wonder what the difference is. Genes, early childhood experiences, etc 😆

Are these guys your first Leo’s?

I take it you acquired them as adults. What made you decide to get two chameleons?

Illinois can be pretty humid in summer I believe. You might have to experiment with it some to get the right summer Feng shui. In winter when the heat is on and the house is closed up and dry, I bet the partial covering is going to be critical to keep your snake comfortable.

Although I am not familiar with the finer points of Acu Rite, but if you are struggling with humidity, try putting something solid over part of the screen top. From the photo, it appears as though the top is fully screened. That’s great if you are in a humid part of the country such as Florida. But if it were me here in the arid western Colorado high country, I would have the enclosure only 1/2 screened on top at the most.

Unusual for a beardie to be so aggressive. How old is she? Was she a rescue?

Greetings Madisyn, it’s good to be careful. I suggest you start by a careful reading of the Leopard Gecko Care Guide included on this site (not the forum, the Critter Depot site itself). Then, if you still have questions, post them here in the forum on this thread and I will guide you as best I can. Remember, the more details you can offer in your queries, the better and more appropriate that advice is going to be.

I know right! I take to my goats all the time.

Empathy is a huge variable in many of the studies involving early childhood pet ownership and healthy development of empathy in adulthood. Oddly enough, one study I read showed no significant association between considering pets as family members and talking to them about one’s problems. Most adults high in self-reported pet attachment feelings were high in considering them just as important as any other family member, but did not report a tendency to confide their problems to them. That study was conducted among adults, not sure at this time if similar studies have been conducted with minors.

I know I run thoughts and issues by my goats when we’re hiking, so maybe I’m 3 sigma on the confiding in pets scale!🤣
