Collard greens for Vitamin A and other goodies, sweet potatoes for Beta Carotene. An excellent combination!

Similar to ageism or sexism, the word for an arrogant assumption about another organism being inferior to oneself, culture, organization etc. is speciesism. Back in the day my biology education was filled with those assumptions, and it is encouraging to see change away from that. Even my father, an employee at the San Diego Zoo when I was a teen, would make the grand claim that ‘man is the only animal aware of his own mortality.’ And I would rebut, ‘and you know this, how?’ And then we’d get into a fight. He is gone now, God rest him, but I still remember my outrage at such an imperious and ridiculous remark.

A wise choice. What do you gut load her crickets with?

Doing good! Get those friends on board with this. That will make for a lot of happy rescues.

Boy, it sure seems like you made the right choice in getting him a companion of his own species. I have been convinced for many years that even lower life forms (non-mammalian) can express an enormous range of emotions other than fear and aggression, such as joy or depression. I bet he is cheered up greatly.

He seems very well socialized. What made you decide on this sort of pet? Had you always wanted one?

This sounds so frustrating and discouraging. One suggestion to make your life easier is to cease applying the ointment. At this point, the healing sores need access to the air to scab over properly.

I reviewed the thread and could not see that we had discussed humidity or moist hides. Could you please describe your enclosure set up with regards to that? Then my answer may be more helpful.

She is one spoiled gal, in a very good way. What do you dust her crickets and veggies with?

Oh that’s not too bad. Does she eat much in the way of greens or fruit like raspberries?

Sounds like an excellent reason. One of my favorite comedians, Paula Poundstone has a very spoiled beardie and the two of them are definitely best friends.

Perhaps this is indelicate, but just how many crickets does she eat each month?

And now she’s two. I bet you guys are super bonded. What made you decide to get a beardie back then?

Oh now that is funny. I wonder how you would feel about giant hissing roaches. Some people keep them as pets!

When did you start reptile keeping?

It is a very cure look for her. Have you had her pretty much all her life?
