ZoodulcisModeratorThat is really really interesting and gives me increased motivation to stay current and positive with all communications on this site. Most people are super nice and several have been quite helpful. I feel it creates a better community and it sounds as though you feel that way as well.
ZoodulcisModeratorMy apologies! I thought your unfortunate experiences had been with birdtalk. My friend admits she is a lurker on talkbudgies only. She never comments on anything, which may be why she has not had a negative experience. That would make sense.
ZoodulcisModeratorJust a quick note having nothing to do with Rexxar. I spoke to a friend who has had parrotlets and budgies and she recommends talkbudgies.com as being fairly friendly and informative. You have probably checked it out already, but I thought I would pass this along anyway.
ZoodulcisModeratorThat defeats the purpose. But you could leave it out with a cheesecloth cover, if you are concerned about pets getting into it or something. The air must be allowed to escape into the room in order for the process to occur. If you cover it with anything at all, even cheesecloth, I recommend aging the water for 36 hours.
ZoodulcisModeratorI agree with AB, it’s a great call to provide them with heat, but also a great call to give them a choice with a temperarture gradient inside the habitat.
ZoodulcisModeratorYes it is really really important for them to have dechlorinated water. I don’t even use it on my house plants! You can buy inexpensive dechlorination tablets, or you can do what I do. Set out a gallon of water on the counter in a wide mouth pan, not a one gallon jug, for 24 hours. This allows enough off-gassing to make the water safe for your pets. Start this practice today, absolutely!
ZoodulcisModeratorSo cute. Gosh they sure do grow fast, especially with good care and diet. Do you have other reptiles as well?
ZoodulcisModeratorIs that a toupee? 🤣
ZoodulcisModeratorThanks for explaining that. It may be helpful for other forum members who purchase or rescue multiple beardies that are males of uneven age. It can be possible to integrate them outside of their enclosure, but a chaperoned introduction period will help to prevent injuries until they are both old enough to be approximately the same size.
ZoodulcisModeratorThat’s interesting that two males get along so well with only the occasional skirmish. Were they raised together in the same enclosure?
ZoodulcisModeratorSomething really has their attention! I’m guessing that they get to do this every day and they absolutely love it. Do they every get into arguments with one another or are they best buds?
ZoodulcisModeratorIt’s amazing how many beardie owners have sent pictures of their lizards playing or lounging with their dogs and even their cats! Always hilarious and a little surprising, but more common than you would think. Are the other two beardies both girls?
ZoodulcisModeratorOh I mean she looks about 8 months old, since you now know she is indeed a she.
ZoodulcisModeratorThere he is!! Boy, he blends right in. Looks about 8 months old in this picture. True?
ZoodulcisModeratorHow many do you have?
