This photo is a little confusing. Is Toothless a real beardie?

Excellent crappy news, pun intended. So what did the trick?

Not sure about the concerns with too many honey baths. I can relay that several members have had excellent results with 3-4. Perhaps there is a downside, but I have not seen it reported. I recommend a plastic container at this point, so that he is unable to hop out. He will need continuous exposure to the honey water for 15 minutes at least each session.

Good to hear from you AB! Some of these pics have so much ‘Ahhhhhhhhhhhh…’ value they should be on Facebook, if they aren’t already.

Three weeks is certainly cause for concern. Be sure not to stop the honey baths. One is not enough. Most members have reported success after 3 or 4 baths, giving their frog one per day. The cage temperature may be partially responsible, and you should do your best to get it back up. The lower temperature may be signaling to his metabolic system to slow down.

It’s good to see Rexxar again and I’m glad things worked out. You have some cuteness competition this month, so if you really want to win, you need to get friends and family to log in and give you a critter gold.

I agree with Dorian, really great photo. Bella will give Amber’s patient and gentle cat Daniel a run for his money in the good citizen department. Were they always this chummy?

What a sweetheart! It’s interesting how some cats pick up on ways to interact with other family pets. My two cats can be trusted around an open poultry brooder in the house. They may jump in to sit under the heat lamp and watch the chicks and turkey poults, but that is all they do. Eventually they just get bored and jump out again. The first couple of times I caught one of them in there, I freaked out. Then I calmed down and just observed the next time I saw one getting ready to jump in. With extreme delicacy and caution, the cat that does it the most slipped down into the poultry box on paw at a time, being careful to scare the birds into a corner so she didn’t step on them, but not scare them too much. Eventually the little birds just clustered around her. It was absolutely fascinating and I let go of my anxiety after that. Sounds like Daniel is that kind of good citizen as well.

Great picture to start off the month and to win crickets with. Have they always been friendly, or were there a few sketchy moments at first introduction?

She certainly has some bright colors going for her. Is she as friendly as she seems in this photo?

It is only important if you plan on breeding a female in the spring. Other than that, it is entirely up to you. Some people like their reptiles to brumate over the winter holidays if they will be traveling or entertaining and need a break from pet care, but if that isn’t you, and you want to enjoy a more active pet over the winter, just keep the temperature up. Daylength will indeed have some effect, and your beardie may be a little more sluggish than usual, but that’s OK and nothing to be concerned with. After the solstice, she may start perking up more. It’s OK to handle her if she is not going to be deliberately brumated, just expect a lower level of energy from her.

A lovely biodynamic system, vertical and full of branches, might be awesome for three White’s Tree Frogs (also called Dumpy Frogs).

Ball pythons are awesome if you can provide them with enough warmth. Other than that, Beardies are always a great choice.
