Now that is a cute and original name. Are Royyia and Tatertot your only two beardies?

Eventually he will come to love his baths. Socializing beardies is like a dance. Some partners enjoy bold, dramatic moves, others, a more sedate approach. Oscar may prefer the latter approach, although without meeting him it’s hard to be sure. For shy ones it’s less about habituation and more about stress management. Bold animals prefer rapid habituation, where a novel situation is presented until it is no longer novel. Then they can take it for granted and move on to more exciting things. Shy beardies should be handled every other day, for no more than 20 minutes at a time. That 48 hours is what it will take them to process the experience and totally decompress from it, allowing 24 hours with no challenges to the sympathetic nervous system. I don’t know what routine you have established with him, just thought I would share some thoughts.

    Best,

    Dr. Lauren

I’m always interested in rescue stories. How exactly did you come by your first fril, if you don’t mind me asking?

Aha!! I get it now. I’ve only seen a couple of episodes, but now I sort of remember that character. Did you get him as a lockdown buddy?

An unusual pet. Did you catch him or purchase him?

She does look intimidating. If I were a predator I know I would think twice. How old is she and what made you decide to get a Frillie?

An keeping a swivel eye on the camera. Why the name Floki? On the forum I have seen a lot of Loki, but never with the added F.

Too cute! Do you know for a fact that they are male and female? They seem a bit young to be certain. Or are they merely engaged in a platonic friendship😂

That’s hilarious. I’m glad I asked, and yeah, they can be pricey but at least they won’t chew up your favorite slippers! What does your grandchild think of all of this? Are they bonding?

Too funny. I too don’t care about being bitten very much. In elementary school I found a huge alligator lizard on the school playground landscaping. When the bell rang and all the other kids went in I tried to grab it. It grabbed me instead on the fatty part of the hand just below the thumb. And he wouldn’t let go. I was so fascinated that I went into the classroom, late, with the lizard hanging from my hand to show everybody. The teacher was not amused!

Is he a coronavirus lockdown buddy or had you been thinking about acquiring a beardie for a while?

Probably wise to keep him separate from the dog in that case. Any photos of the cat and Gizmo lounging or playing together?

I don’t know why beardies enjoy hanging from things so much, but it’s hilarious. Have you had him long?
