ZoodulcisModeratorWhat balance!! That’s hilarious. How old is he?
ZoodulcisModeratorAppears as though neither one of them quite knows what to think! Who came along first, Drax or Wonton?
ZoodulcisModeratorI think it’s awesome when kids work so hard to acquire a pet. I think it makes the whole experience more meaningful. Good luck with getting all those critter golds! And if she has husbandry questions, she can refer to that pacman care guide available on this site (the main site and not the forum). If she still has questions, they can always be posted here on the forum and I generally will get to them within 24 hours.
ZoodulcisModeratorGreetings Hannah,
Excellent questions. Since you have a method for keeping the humidity at a very nice level, don’t change it. Excess humidity can lead to respiratory problems. I think misting once per day, which will cause the humidity to rise and then fall back down again, is plenty. Keep the humidity closely monitored as the seasons change, and if it drops below 70% for a couple of days, misting twice will not be too much. When you do mist daily, be sure to use spring water or dechlorinated tap water. Misting twice daily during dry spells with distilled water can cause metabolic problems.
I hope this response was helpful and feel free to ask for clarication if you have additional questions.
ZoodulcisModeratorThey don’t sell crickets near you? Bummer!! Critter Depot might be able to help you with that, whether you win or not.
Congratulations on her first Pacman frog. Was he a gift, or did she earn the money to purchase him and his habitat? What does she think of him so far?
To win the crickets, have all your friends log onto this site and give you a critter gold.
ZoodulcisModeratorGood for you that you at least tried to save them both. And boy, you do have a lot of mouths to feed. Get all your friends to give you a critter gold in the next few days. That’s the best way to win!
ZoodulcisModeratorIf it were me I would use both. And definitely do not collect them from your yard, especially the isopods, that are known to be riddled with parasites that can affect your pet’s health. By using both, you ensure that detritus of different kinds in the habitat are consumed by these invertebrates who occupy similar but slightly different niches.
ZoodulcisModeratorGreat name!! I once had a goat named Chillie. How long have you had him?
ZoodulcisModeratorDubia roaches need to be properly gut loaded just like any other food item. Oranges alone are quite insufficient. I suggest looking at the care guide on the Critter Depot site that includes a comprehensive diet plan for beardies. There are some suggestions there for a proper gut load and other nutritional requirements for a healthy pet.
ZoodulcisModeratorThat’s a hoot. Do they do that often and are they truly a family i.e. little one is their offspring?
ZoodulcisModeratorShe looks like a sweety. How long have you had her?
ZoodulcisModeratorWhile they are growing you cannot overfeed them. Keep observing their feeding habits and make sure that their food is not too large for either of them at this point. Mealworms will also need to be gut-loaded and dusted. Proper nutrition at this stage is more important than concerns about overfeeding.
ZoodulcisModeratorThank you so much for the kind words. I sent them on to management and they were super happy with your positive feedback.
ZoodulcisModeratorHa Ha….does that make her a red-head?
ZoodulcisModeratorCollard greens are better than kale and not as good as mustard greens or watercress. The difference is the amount of oxalic acid present. Go to the bearded dragon care guide on this site and see the list of items that are recommended for a perfect diet, and why.
