I’m not sure who’s having more fun with this, him or you! I am going to disagree with AB on the found objects approach, something I seldom do. There are many microbes that are impervious to extreme cold, but almost none that can survive bleach and high temperatures. I like the idea of found objects to save money, but those objects should be dowsed with a 10% bleach solution then baked in a pre-heated oven at 200F for 30 minutes. Only then can you be certain. This is why milk is pasteurized at temperatures higher than 140, rather than freezing it for safety. Loads of bacteria simply go dormant at freezing temperatures, and then begin to multiply again as soon as they warm up. Yes, freezing at exceptionally cold temperatures for 24 hours can work, but unless your freezer reaches -80 degrees (80 degrees below zero, not just below freezing temp) you are running a risk of introducing bacteria.

I am so glad that he had a good outcome. We can all use a bit of good news these days! And to answer AB, you can win even though the photo isn’t titled cricket contest. We figure it out as long as the photo is plainly of a personal pet the is entering, rather than a habitat or enclosure. Is Johnny your recovered friend with reptiles of his own?

I cannot think of a better reason. Sometimes, especially these days, the best we can help others is to help ourselves. Although of course there are countless ways to do that, my jam is obviously with animal-related activities. Did your friend pull through?

Wow, that is a cozy domestic scene. So all the cats are girls? That’s a lot of feline femininity!

You can’t beat that feeling. Although it’s all girls inside my house, I got my big boys (huge pack goats) outside. What a joy to have that yin and yang in one’s life. My dad used to get creeped out by being in a house full of girls. Not really, he loved it mostly, but did like having a male dog. Balance is so fun and Boy George seems to be an awesome dude.
