ZoodulcisModeratorThey are pretty awesome and we would just love to see a picture of your’s.
ZoodulcisModeratorThat’s really clever and this photo may inspire other forum members to get creative! So you just thought about the issue and cooked this up? Or did this idea come from somewhere else and you adapted it?
ZoodulcisModeratorThe costumery one can acquire for their beardies never ceases to amaze me. She seems fairly happy with her headress. What’s her name?
ZoodulcisModeratorHonestly, I don’t know. My sense is that dragonflies should be fine if they have not been exposed to any toxins. About the mosquitos, my concern would be diseases. They carry so many, but most are transferred during a blood meal on their victim. If they are consumed and the digestive process destroys all pathogens, then they could be just fine. I will have to look this up and get back to you.
ZoodulcisModeratorHe looks like a real character. Is he your first chameleon?
ZoodulcisModeratorI bet you miss them, but the chameleon helps to make up for that!
ZoodulcisModeratorProbably better than most people’s beds. What his name?
ZoodulcisModeratorTotally understand. How many do you have now?
ZoodulcisModeratorYou can start right away, a little at a time. And acquire a good harness. After you get him used to the harness at home, indoors and then outdoors, take him to a friend’s house so he can interact with strangers. Keep the harness on him in the car and see if he likes sitting on the dashboard. Many do, although a few find it frightening. They are all so individual its hard to know what will work until you try it.
ZoodulcisModeratorHi Marie, please post your photo again, perhaps because of the file size. Try reducing it and try again.
ZoodulcisModeratorI thought that might be what she was. Yes, quite rare. Are you keeping her as a pet or breeding, or selling her eventually when she’s weaned?
ZoodulcisModeratorHogs are the best!!! What color variation will she be?
ZoodulcisModeratorYep, AB has some excellent points. It’s true that they are a bit more difficult in the beginning to set up properly. But so worth it. Don’t you think, AB?
ZoodulcisModeratorA bioactive setup will work for most reptiles. It means that you are providing a micro-biome for your reptile/reptiles. There is a specific type of substrate on the bottom, some live plants, and a whole lot of detritivores. I like the fact that you don’t have to sanitize it more than once per year, if that! Otherwise, with a conventional set-up, the plastic furniture needs to be sterilized once a month, as does the substrate.
ZoodulcisModeratorNice habitat set-up. Is it bioactive?
