I’ve always thought these guys were particularly cool. Nice pic of Rascal, BTW.  Again those two questions I love to ask…Where did you get him and how old is he?

Aries does seem to have attitude!  How old is he and where did you get him?

Thank you for the input on the gut load.  This is indeed a popular product and even breeders like it. And now I get the origin of the name.  It was a very cute movie, but I had forgotten the names of the dino-characters.  I assume Chomper is a boy?  Or maybe too soon to tell?  If it’s a girl, will she become Chompette 😉 ?

Harry Potte trivia… the young woman that played Luna was just as pleasant, positive, and spacey off stage as on stage, according to other Harry Potter friends of mine who met her.  That same beautiful, mature woman is now rippin’ it up as a competitive ballroom dancer.  So your girl is sort of named for an actress who defies all Hollywood norms and still lives life to the fullest.  May that be your girl’s karma as well.  Do you have any tips on gut-loading formulations that you would care to share with our adoring readers?

Oh awesome…reptile shows are a hoot.  If you do get a chance to get to one, could you take a few pix and give your overall impressions of prices, helpfulness of vendors, health of the animals and so forth.  I would love it if we could steer readers away from big box pet stores for the purchase of pets and on toward reputable breeders.  Nobody can deny the convenience of the big boxes, but still, it’s way better for the overall health and reputation of the pet industry to buy directly from someone who knows their breeds/species like the back of their hand.

I hope Mr. Anderson appreciates the honor!  It says good things about Matthieu that he chose a name from a mentor/role model, as well as saying good things about the Ag Science teacher.  Ag Science, taught well, sets students up early for success in a wide variety of high school topics.  When you find out what Matthieu’s dietary regime for Anderson is, could you be so kind as to post it, or maybe ask him to when he has the time?  We need more young herp husbandry respondents to be able to act as a sensei (one who has gone before) for other young keepers.

Dino Dan, you are looking really colorful.  You should ask your mommie to ask the sultan of crickets here at the Critter Depot whether or not postings and points for those are cumulative (for this humble servant of the grand master does not know the answer to that question). Tell me again what color morph you are?

Nice picture of this guy.  Is Anderson a Matrix name?  Just a wild guess, but reasonable for a 12 year old boy.

It is so important for kids to work toward something and then have the responsibility for caring for a living thing.  I read a study several years back by a sociology research group studying youth development that children involved in 4-H and FFA show superior leadership skills later in life, are more collaborative in group settings during problem-solving or project planning, and often display greater resiliency than urban kids.  They understand the value of hard work and how work relates to fair compensation.  They also tend to do better as freshmen in college, because they have achieved greater maturity concerning the realities of life, death and really hard work before they enter.  So kudos to both of you!

Is Matthieu up on the latest in supplementation for Anderson?  If so, which products have you guys selected as being the best choice for his continuing health?

A wonderful twist on the standard pet photo! I know it’s hard to choose, but do you have a favorite between Amelia and Lizzy, and if so, what makes that one a tiny bit more lovable?

Vargy is absolutely gorgeous!  What sort of dietary supplements do you use for complete nutrition and do you gut load his crickets?

So this may be a complete ‘Boy Named Sue’ pet naming moment.  You have a girl with a boy’s name and possibly a boy with a girl’s name.  That’s what happens when kids name pets.  I’m glad my daughter is way too old to have a say in pet naming any longer.  Are you guys spending time handling Medusa at this stage?

Puff is proving that he is a magic dragon.  You would have to be to sleep like that.  How old is he and has he always done that?  You don’t suppose he’s trying to stay cool, do you?

Ah….so Draco is a girl.  No breeding them for you!  Same question as to playmates, though.  Do they get along or must you keep them separated?

Keymaster’s comment reminded me that toxoplasmosis is transmissible from cats to lizards and can be fatal in as little as one week.  Lucky can’t be blamed for being curious, that’s just cats in general, I know, I have 2.  But if it were me, I would not allow Lucky to have access to any reptile’s enclosure, just to be on the safe side.  I hope you find this input helpful, I always err on the side of caution, just sayin’.

A classic mythology name for your girl, but why the unflattering reference to the creature with the snakes for hair?  I’m sure you have a reason for this unusual name and I am curious as to what the story is.  Does Medusa hang out with Draco, or is she too little for his company yet?  Are you planning on breeding them?
