I have a juvenile strawberry pineapple pacman frog (around 5 months old) named Chonkers. He hasn't been sexed yet since it's still too early to tell. But my question/problem has to do with his skin, he is a deep pink and yellowish-orange when I wake up before I turn his light on, but by the time I turn it off when his day cycle is over, his skin is much much lighter and has small bumps on it. Once I turn off his light, he usually returns to normal pretty quickly (I've never counted but probably around 30 mins). I was just wondering if this was normal?? Does this happen to anyone else's pacman frogs? I keep the humidity around 70-80% and mist his terrarium regularly so I doubt it has anything to do with dehydration. He has a normal appetite and no other issues, please let me know if this is normal! And if it isn't please let me know how to fix it ASAP because I care about all my pets so so much and like to give them the best lives possible. [post_title] => Pacman frog's skin bleaching? When I got him I think the transition spooked him a little. He wouldn’t eat for about a month and a half (I reached out to the breeder who helpful) . I tried scenting and he immediately ate the first time I offered, coming straight at it with his mouth open. Since then he hasn’t eaten. It’s been almost 2 months at this point. When I offer him anything he looks interested in it but eventually he just turns and leaves (sometimes he’ll hiss). The last time I tried to feed, I left the fuzzy in his enclosure and saw that he came out of his hide to smell it but then just turned around and went back into his hide. He is about 2 years old. I keep the hot side around 90 F and the cool side at 80 F (per the breeders instruction). He is active and when I clean his water or do anything else in his enclosure he is extremely curious. I am open to any and all suggestions!! (If I can’t get him to eat after a few more tries I will be taking him to a vet!) This is my little girl named Penelope. If you don't know anything about hognoses, feel free to ask! What you read online can only give you so much information, as owning one teaches you so much more. She is an incredibly beautiful normal morph, and, if I ever wanted to breed her (albeit unlikely), she is a 50% possible het axanthic. She's almost 8 months old. She's incredibly feisty, and her tank adorns a "Feeling sassy" magnet as a result. However, I've been working with her since the day I got her to make her less timid and, thus, less defensive. She hasn't struck at me in over a month now! She's an amazing eater, especially after her original breeder had issues getting her to eat. Although they don't require UVB lights, I noticed an incredible difference in her when I installed one, so for anyone considering one for their hoggie, I 1000000% recommend it. She calmed down significantly more with it.
