Nice photo of you Kronos. Why the unusual name? Perhaps it was because it was about ‘time’ that your humans got themselves a crestie?

They are both real cuties. How old is the little one, (the lizard that is)? He or she looks pretty young.

OK now that’s a visual. I am now imagining a chorus line of crested geckos with pompoms, dancing upright and shaking them shouting, “Go, Fight, Win!” Very cartoon, I know.

Have you tried potty training the cresties?

Ah the homeboy again. We have you covered for the cricket contest points under Bearded Dragons. Would you like me to delete the ones under ‘everything else’ so that your points don’t get spread out? More entries is not more better.

That’s adorable. I recognize those pee pads, I use them under my cats’ box. I assume you began to engage in this training adventure because you have a busy lifestyle and this will cut down on pooping scooping and odor. Am I right?

I guess he’s just a homeboy. Have you had him very long?

Greetings David, the picture didn’t load. Reduce the size and try it again.

I agree with AB…another substrate might be a better choice. Calci sand, is not entirely safe because it’s made from calcium carbonate. Just like with antacid tablets, serves to neutralize stomach acid. Stomach acid is necessary to digest food and the supplement itself; once stomach acid is neutralized, the calcium carbonate can contribute to impaction. Best just to keep him on an organic substrate for maximum health. Suggestions for these are included in the Leopard gecko care guide on this site.

That’s sound like a great approach. The breeder is right about handling, as it causes stress and releases stress hormones. If it were me, now that he is this old and really coming around, I would handle him once a day for 20 minutes 6 days a week. That way he gets his training and socialization in, but still has time to fully decompress in between sessions. Just food for thought.
