ZoodulcisModeratorABs advice is right on. This is the best strategy for ensuring the longest, healthiest life for your little friend. The expense is well worth it and should prevent costly veterinary visits.
ZoodulcisModeratorThat’s great! Sounds like they were a wonderful acquisition. Good for you and them. Do you handle them very often?
ZoodulcisModeratorI figured there were some hidden in the foliage, but not that many!! Congratulations. Do you have buyers all lined up for them?
ZoodulcisModeratorHe’s a cutey. What about him seemed strange, different from the other hatchlings?
ZoodulcisModeratorI think that AB’s recommendations are closer to what you want. The petstore lady does have a vested interest in selling expensive equipment, whereas AB does not.
Once you have made the investment in the hood, which you never have to replace in my experience, you will need to buy two replacement bulbs a year. Reptisun 10 costs under $20 dollars, so in the course of a year, you only have to spend about $35 on lighting, after the initial set-up is purchased. That’s not too bad a price to pay for keeping your pet healthy and happy. About $3 per month seems pretty reasonable. You can even get the bulbs delivered by Chewy.
ZoodulcisModeratorAh Ha!! Mystery revealed. I actually do like the name, just found it puzzling.
ZoodulcisModeratorWhy Zero? He seems like much more than that to me.
ZoodulcisModeratorAnd a belated greeting to you too!!
ZoodulcisModeratorOh wow!!! Looks like there’s about 7. Are they all doing well?
ZoodulcisModeratorShe is stunning. Were you happy with your experience with that breeder?
ZoodulcisModeratorI believe this light is insufficient. You may want to get a second one, or take it back to the shop and get something larger.
ZoodulcisModeratorGood for you that she has a great home now. She looks relaxed, secure, and without a care in the world. She does make me yawn just lookin’ at her. have you had her long?
ZoodulcisModeratorLooks like crickets make this one smile. Or maybe he/she smiles all the time anyway! What’s this one’s name?
ZoodulcisModeratorOK, that gives new meaning to being around the block several times!
I wish I had a dollar for every time a forum member said they got the beardie for a child, or a relative did, and having NO idea how personable and charming they are, and the adults quickly found they wondered why it took them so long to acquire one of these wonderful pets!
If you have the time and opportunity to post a picture of a ‘beardie walk,’ please feel free to do so.
ZoodulcisModeratorWelcome James and Baby G. We are very pleased to have you join us. Did you have some specific questions not covered in the leopard geck care guide on this site?
