I have a 10 month old pacman frog. I have artificial vine/leaves in his tank, he usually likes to hide under them. But this morning I looked inside and saw that he had an entire leaf in his mouth. I slowly removed the leaf and watched him for a bit. He seemed fine, I poured some water over him and he hopped off. I tried looking for any blood and only saw some on the inside of his lip. He seems fine now, just a little shaken up. I’m going to wait to feed him until tonight.
You most likely got it. If you notice he doesn’t poop for a week or so, you’ll know he ate one you didnt get. Id also replace those leaves with real pothos plant.
AB has it right. He’s probably OK because you acted in time. But if he is that adventurous, pothos or some other amphibian friendly plant might be a good call until he is two or three years old.
Thank you both so much! He is doing fine and back to being himself! 🙂
I thought he swallowed the leaf and wanted to make sure I didn’t damage his insides when I pulled it out.
Frogs can actually turn their stomachs inside out and throw them up and then swallow them back down. As far as I know they all can do that. So something that can do that and live, I doubt you’d do much damage pulling a leaf out lol I appreciate you worrying though, shows you care.
