Probably just as well. When she is a bit older she can probably assist with the care the way my daughter did when she was seven. It does help to teach responsibility.
Most scientists that study zoonoses, diseases transmissible to humans from animals, such as Salmonella, recommend that young children wash their hands extremely well after handling their reptile pets. Not much different than being coronavirus cautious, so no biggie there. Just something I always remind forum members with small children that handle lizards, snakes, and especially turtles.
