BearsfantcParticipantEl Chapo is a 1 year old Veiled that acts like he rules the house. We decided that he needed a look fitting of that, so we picked up this hat at Repiticon.

ZoodulcisModeratorEl Chapo is fashionable yet suitably intimidating. What about his behavior makes you say he rules the house? Does he hold you at gunpoint until you give up those crickets he knows you must hiding?

BearsfantcParticipantHe is more of a knife connoisseur. He swiftly wields his daggers on all 4 feet and will leave plenty of marks if you don’t give him what he wants. He also is not afraid to let you know when he is not happy. 🙂

ZoodulcisModeratorIf he is wielding knives with all four feet then he must threaten the uncooperative while hanging by his tail! Do remind El Chapo to never take a knife to a gunfight, especially when a cache of crickets is at stake. How many crickets each week does it take to satisfy this greedy overlord?

BearsfantcParticipantWe sacrifice between 100-120 crickets a week and that keeps him happy enough to allow us to be in his presence. Even though he seems to get upset if we feed some of his crickets to the Bearded Dragon but he is learning to share little by little.

ZoodulcisModeratorShare and Enjoy. What foods besides crickets do these herps share and enjoy?

BearsfantcParticipantWe buy our superworms from here and they also enjoy discord roaches, which we are researching starting our own colony. The Bearded also enjoys all the greens he can eat but El Chapo passes on those.

ZoodulcisModeratorDiscord Roaches?

BearsfantcParticipantDiscoid roaches. Sorry misspelling.

ZoodulcisModeratorA very funny mispelling, as loose roaches could indeed be a source of discord for many people. How do these roaches differ from dubia roaches as a food source for El Chapo. Bigger, smaller, more crunchy?
