ZoodulcisModeratorWas he mad, or just hungry? Some beardies love bees!

Angie AdkinsParticipantHe is 5 months old so he’s had very few days that’s it has been warm enough & sometimes he gets scared with any movements outside & when the bee flew over he instantly black bearded. Lol about a month or so ago a big red wasp got into his tank and before I could get it, he ate it. Lol

ZoodulcisModeratorSo he really does startle easily. Perhaps when he is older he will grow more confident. The more he is around startling but harmless stimuli, the more he should habituated to it. Should being a relative term, because beardies have such diverse personalities.

Angie AdkinsParticipantThey really do! Yes, Rango startles easily, But my Beans does not. Many people have said that females don’t black beard as much as males. They both have such different personalities. Beans loves being held & will let me put her harness on for outside her enclosure time, Rango just wants to do what Rango wants to do. Lol. He will let me put his harness on but barely lol he wants to go go go 🤣
