Beautiful baby Sir Reptar Rugrat. He loves him some critter depot crickets!

That name brings back fond memories of nickelodeon cartoons.

Sir Reptar looks pretty fresh. How old is he?

He is almost 4 months (unofficially). I made his birthday on May 16. I think it’s pretty close. I’ve had him 8 weeks now .

Wow those colors! I’m pretty jealous. When he grows older I’m sure those colors will explode! Where did you get him?

Ditto on what the others said.  He is a beautiful baby.  How many crickets is he eating per day?

I got him from a guy named Kritter on the chameleon forums site. He is eating about 10-12 crickets per day and a couple of BSFL (not too fond of those, he loves his crickets) but I like to try and give them a variety. I have only ever had females, so this is an exciting new experience for me! I love it.

That’s great you’re offering a variety of feeders.  But Reptar isn’t your first chameleon?  Are you caring for others?

Yes, I have a girl too. She’s about 10 months old now.

Are her colors as stunning as his? Do you plan on breeding them?

No, she is my beauty! She’s an ambanja. Here’s a pic of her. I haven’t decided if I want to breed yet or not. That’s a lot of work when the little babies come!

I really love chameleons and it looks like you do too. They are some of the most interesting lizards ever.

They are both lovely and healthy looking.  It’s nice to know that you have some time before breeding is even an option, and you are also wise to consider the amount of work involved.  Still, in a year or two you may change your mind!
