Just make sure you clean the shells before use. Also you need to make sure that you have a freshwater bowl and a saltwater bowl in their enclosure. The saltwater bowl will help them get rid of any mites that they may have and the freshwater bowl is for bathing/drinking water. You can get the soaking salt online or at a pet store.
